This is the fifth in a series of interviews about religion that I am
conducting for The Stone. The interviewee for this installment is Jay L.
Garfield, who has taught philosophy at several universities and is
currently the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple Professor of Humanities,
Yale-NUS College in Singapore. He is at work on a book called “Engaging
Buddhism: Why Buddhism Matters to Contemporary Philosophy.”
